Install a foundational data kit
A data kit is a prebuilt bundle of Data Cloud objects — the “foundational data kit” for Salesforce Personalization adds the data model Personalization needs to run. Install it, check what it added, then map any of your own data to it.
Find and install the data kit
- From Setup, open Personalization Setup.
- Under Personalization Setup Options, click the Foundational Setup tab.
- In the Deploy Foundational Data section, click Select Data Space.
- Choose your data space and click Deploy.
Review the data model objects (DMOs) it adds
- In Data Cloud, open Data Model for the data space you deployed to.
- Confirm the Personalization Point, Personalization Decision, Personalization Content Schema, Personalizer, and PersonalizationLog DMOs are present.
- Open Calculated Insights and confirm Daily Personalization Uniques and Daily Personalization Requests exist.
- Schedule those calculated insights to run — they aren’t scheduled automatically.
Map your source data to the kit
- The kit creates a Salesforce CRM data stream for each of the five DMOs above, fully mapped for you.
- The kit also creates an Ingestion API data stream and schema file for the PersonalizationLog DMO.
- For any other source data you want in Data 360 (for example web or mobile events), create its own data stream separately.
- Map that new data stream’s fields to the matching Data 360 object, then save and confirm records land correctly.
